Until 1847 there was no church in Ravnogor, so the divine services were made in front of stone cross. During the same year the firs church of Ravnogor was built. Nowadays it can be seen despite the Turkish incursions. The church is a holy place for the 100% Christian villagers of Ravnogor. It is interesting that in 1876 the local priest Angel Sandukchiev became a chairman of the secret revolution committee. This committee revolts the April rebellion in 1876 on 23 of April in the village.
