The holiday of ‘nabora’

A unique local holiday. Exists for over 100 years and is a traditional farewell celebration of the guys joining the army. All boys who are 18 years old, in uniforms and holding flags, led by the mayor, gather on the last Friday of July in front of the villagers. They kiss the flag as well as the national flag and swear to protect Bulgaria. The holiday continues 3 days. The last boy who joins the Bulgarian army takes the flag and is reliable for its protection. This is the last holiday from the traditional summer holidays in Ravnogor.
